New Delhi: Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone could finally make its debut on September 9, with multiple leaks suggesting the device—widely referred to as the iPhone Ultra—may be unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.
While Apple has not officially confirmed the launch, reports indicate the foldable smartphone will feature a 7.8-inch foldable OLED inner display and a 5.5-inch outer screen, offering an iPad mini-like experience when unfolded.
The device is expected to be powered by Apple’s upcoming A20 Pro chipset, paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and the company’s in-house C2 modem. Leaks also suggest a battery capacity ranging between 5,400mAh and 5,800mAh.

In the camera department, the iPhone Ultra is tipped to sport dual 48MP rear cameras, along with dedicated selfie cameras for both the inner and outer displays. Other expected features include USB Type-C, stereo speakers, and a new Camera Control button.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s annual hardware event is likely to take place on September 9, where the company is also expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
The foldable iPhone is rumoured to be priced between ₹1,99,990 and ₹2,29,990 in India. However, Apple has not officially confirmed the launch date, specifications or pricing, and the details remain based on leaks and industry reports.
