Karnataka to set up ‘Bharat Jodo Yuva Sanghas’ within a month; ₹10 lakh aid for each unit

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government is set to establish ‘Bharat Jodo Yuva Sanghas’ across the state within the next month under a newly approved scheme, with each association to receive ₹10 lakh in financial assistance.

According to the government, each Bharat Jodo Yuva Sangha will comprise 100 to 250 members and will function as a youth-based community organisation at the grassroots level.

Announcing the initiative, Minister Dr G. Parameshwara said the scheme is being implemented to commemorate Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

He said the Chief Minister has approved the programme in line with the Congress party’s election manifesto commitments. The scheme will be implemented in coordination with the Departments of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Urban Development, Revenue and Education.

The government expects the associations to be constituted across Karnataka within a month, following which the financial assistance will be released for implementing activities under the scheme.
