Hyderabad: Labour and Employment Ministers and senior officials from BRICS countries, led by Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Shobha Karandlaje, visited Bosch Global Software Technologies and the CII Green Business Centre (CII-GBC) in Hyderabad on Thursday as part of the 12th BRICS Labour and Employment Ministers’ Meeting (LEMM) under India’s BRICS Presidency.
The visit showcased India’s strengths in digital innovation, artificial intelligence (AI), Global Capability Centres (GCCs), future-ready skilling and sustainable industrial development.
At the Bosch campus, the BRICS delegation interacted with industry leaders from Bosch, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and representatives of Global Capability Centres across sectors including healthcare, automotive and manufacturing. Discussions focused on innovation, research and development, product engineering, AI-driven workplace transformation, industry-academia collaboration, women’s leadership and building a future-ready workforce.
The delegation was informed that India now hosts more than 2,100 Global Capability Centres, employing over 2.36 million professionals. Hyderabad alone is home to nearly 400 GCCs, reinforcing its position as one of the country’s leading technology and innovation hubs.
The ministers later visited the CII Green Business Centre, where they were briefed on India’s initiatives to promote green buildings, resource efficiency, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices, and sustainable industrial development. Officials highlighted the centre’s role in encouraging environmentally responsible business practices while improving industrial competitiveness and employment generation.
As part of the programme, the BRICS ministers and heads of delegation also participated in a sapling plantation drive, reaffirming the bloc’s commitment to environmental sustainability and climate-conscious development.
The visit highlighted India’s efforts to leverage technology, innovation, skills and sustainability to shape the future of work and strengthen cooperation among BRICS nations in promoting inclusive and resilient economic growth.
