New Delhi: Six people, including Belagavi South BJP MLA Abhay Patil and Delhi’s Kirari MLA Anil Jha, were injured in a road accident in Delhi’s ITO area late Sunday night.
The accident occurred around 9.30pm near the PWD office, police said. A Swift car travelling from Laxmi Nagar towards ITO reportedly hit a divider, lost control and crossed over to the opposite side of the road before crashing into an Innova SUV.
Abhay Patil and Anil Jha were travelling in the SUV when the collision occurred.
All injured shifted to LNJP Hospital
The Swift was being driven by 32-year-old Ashutosh Pandey, who was travelling with his wife and two minor children. Occupants of both vehicles sustained injuries and were rushed to LNJP Hospital for treatment.
Police said all six injured people are in stable condition.
A forensic team visited the accident site and collected evidence, while witnesses were questioned as part of the probe. The IP Estate police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.
