Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a dominant victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in a crucial Indian Premier League (IPL) match played on Friday.
After winning the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad opted to bat first and piled up a massive 255 runs in the allotted 20 overs with explosive batting performances.
Chasing the huge target, Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to keep up with the required run rate and managed only 200 runs in their 20 overs. Sunrisers Hyderabad thus sealed a comprehensive victory.
With the score of 255, Sunrisers Hyderabad created a unique IPL record by becoming the first team to score more than 250 runs twice against the same opposition in tournament history.
Despite the heavy defeat, RCB continue to hold the top position in the points table with 18 points and a net run rate of +0.783. Gujarat Titans remain second with a net run rate of +0.695.
As things stand, RCB and Gujarat Titans are likely to face each other in the IPL qualifier stage.
