Damascus: A bomb blast occurred on Tuesday near the hotel in Damascus where French President Emmanuel Macron was staying during his official visit to Syria. French authorities confirmed that the President was unharmed and remains safe.
The explosion was reported close to the hotel, prompting Syrian security forces to rush to the scene. Authorities immediately cordoned off the area, declared it a high-security zone and closed nearby roads as a precaution.

In a statement, the French Presidential Palace said, “President Emmanuel Macron is completely safe and his security has not been compromised.”
