DDCA Seeks Venue Change for India-Sri Lanka ODI Opener

New Delhi: The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has asked the BCCI to shift the first ODI between India and Sri Lanka, scheduled for December 13 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, citing ongoing renovation work and concerns over Delhi’s winter weather.

In a letter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the DDCA said the stadium’s renovation work could make it difficult to host the match as scheduled. It also flagged weather conditions in the capital during December as a concern.

The BCCI is yet to announce a decision on the request. A change of venue would mean the series opener will be moved out of Delhi.

The second ODI of the three-match series is scheduled to be played in Bengaluru, with Ahmedabad set to host the third match.

The ODI series will be followed by a three-match T20 series, with Rajkot, Cuttack and Pune slated to host the games.
