Kochi: The Third Additional Munsiff Court in Kochi has issued notices to filmmaker Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, online news portal operator Shajan Skaria and Meta Platforms over a petition filed by Malayalam actor Manju Warrier alleging publication and circulation of defamatory and objectionable content about her.
Judge Reeja R. Nair issued the notices after hearing the actor’s petition seeking legal protection against the alleged circulation of material that she claimed was false and damaging to her reputation.
The court has also passed an interim injunction restraining Sanal Kumar Sasidharan from publishing defamatory content against Warrier while the proceedings are pending.
The court has reportedly directed Meta Platforms to remove allegedly abusive and false content published on social media that the petition claimed tarnished Warrier’s reputation.
The matter has been posted for further hearing on November 5.
