New Delhi: Indian Navy warship INS Trishul has concluded its port call at Souda Bay in Greece during its ongoing Mediterranean deployment, strengthening maritime cooperation with the Hellenic Navy through professional engagements and a joint sea exercise.
The ship completed its visit on November 3. During the stay, its commanding officer held discussions with senior Hellenic Navy officials, as well as the heads of the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre and the US Naval Support Activity at Souda Bay. The talks focused on operational logistics, mutual support and cooperation among partner navies.
Greek naval personnel also visited INS Trishul and were briefed on its capabilities. India’s Ambassador to Greece, Ravi Shankar, visited the vessel, interacted with its crew and received a briefing on its combat capabilities.

The visit also featured a cultural programme attended by diplomatic representatives, senior Greek and US naval officers and members of the Indian diaspora.
On leaving Souda Bay, INS Trishul conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with Hellenic Navy ship HS Limnos (F451). The exercise included coordinated manoeuvres, replenishment approaches, helicopter cross-deck landing and communication drills.
The Indian Navy said the engagements would strengthen operational coordination, interoperability and maritime ties between the two countries. INS Trishul has now proceeded to the next phase of its deployment.
