KKR Beat Mumbai in Thriller; Playoff Hopes Stay Alive

Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders kept their IPL playoff hopes alive after defeating Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets in a thrilling match played at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata on Wednesday.

Chasing a target of 149 runs, KKR reached 148 for the loss of 6 wickets in 18.5 overs and secured two crucial points.

Batting first, Mumbai Indians failed to put up a strong total and were restricted to 148 runs. KKR also suffered early setbacks during the chase, but Karnataka batter Manish Pandey played a responsible innings and guided the team close to victory with timely batting.

With this win, Kolkata remain in contention for a playoff spot. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad have already confirmed their places in the playoffs.

The battle for the remaining playoff position has now intensified among five teams. KKR still have one league match left and are currently placed sixth in the points table with 13 points.
