Chikkamagaluru: BJP-JD(S)-led NDA’s victory in all four Karnataka Legislative Council constituencies is a sign of the political direction ahead of the 2028 Assembly elections, BJP MLC Dr Ravi CT said.
Speaking at victory celebrations at Azad Park in Chikkamagaluru, Ravi described the alliance’s success in two graduates’ and two teachers’ constituencies as a significant achievement. He congratulated winners S V Sankanur, Shashil G Namoshi, K M Suresh and A P Ranganath.
Ravi said the results demonstrated the alliance’s support among voters, noting that the elections were conducted using ballot papers rather than electronic voting machines (EVMs). He claimed the verdict reflected public dissatisfaction with the Congress government’s handling of public welfare, rising prices and corruption allegations. These were political assertions made by the BJP leader.

He said the verdict delivered by graduates and teachers could have implications for the political landscape ahead of the 2028 Assembly polls.
Sankanur has been elected to the council for a third term, while Namoshi has secured a fifth term. Suresh and Ranganath have entered the Legislative Council for the first time.
Ravi also claimed that the alliance’s vote count and vote share had increased across all four constituencies and thanked voters for supporting its candidates.
District BJP president M R Devarajashetty, general secretary Ravindra Belawadi and other party leaders attended the celebrations.
