Lucknow: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has expressed grief over the death of NEET aspirant Ritik Mishra in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri and alleged that irregularities in examinations are causing severe mental stress among students.
In a post on X, Priyanka Gandhi said the news of Ritik Mishra’s suicide was “deeply heartbreaking” and conveyed condolences to his family.
Referring to information shared by the family, she said the student had reportedly been under intense mental pressure following the cancellation of the NEET examination.
“The rampant corruption in examinations is destroying the future of lakhs of students every year,” she alleged, expressing concern over the growing stress faced by aspirants.
Questioning the central government, Priyanka Gandhi asked, “When will this chain of incidents stop? When will accountability be fixed?”
The incident comes amid continuing political debate over the cancellation and re-examination of National Testing Agency NEET-UG 2026 following allegations of question paper leaks and irregularities.
