New Delhi: Tuesday’s proceedings of the Monsoon Session of Parliament were once again marked by a confrontation between the ruling NDA and the Opposition.
The Opposition demanded a statement from Union home minister Amit Shah over police action during a student protest, while the government maintained that it was ready for a discussion on the issue.

However, repeated protests and sloganeering by Opposition members disrupted proceedings. Amid the din, the government introduced key legislations, including the Kerala (Name Change) Bill, 2026 and the National Cooperative Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
With the Opposition continuing its protest, proceedings of the House were adjourned.
Meanwhile, protesting against what they termed persistent disruption of parliamentary proceedings by the Opposition, NDA MPs took out a protest march towards Parliament House on Tuesday.
