Police investigate petrol bomb attack on BJP office in Punjab

Amritsar: A petrol bomb was allegedly hurled at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Sangrur, Punjab, late on Saturday night, prompting a police investigation and heightened security around the premises.

Police officials reached the spot soon after receiving information about the incident and carried out an inspection of the area. No injuries were reported, and officials said the attack caused no major damage to the building.

Investigators have collected evidence from the scene and seized footage from nearby CCTV cameras to identify those responsible for the attack and determine the motive behind it.

Police said the investigation is being carried out from all possible angles and that efforts are underway to trace the suspects using the available surveillance footage and other evidence.

Following the incident, security around the BJP office has been strengthened as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order in the area.
