Sunil Kanugolu appointed as Chief Advisor to CM D.K. Shivakumar

Bengaluru: Sunil Kanugolu, widely known as the Congress party’s election strategist, has been appointed as Chief Advisor to Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.

An official order has been issued appointing Kanugolu, a native of Ballari district, as the Chief Advisor with cabinet rank status and all associated facilities.

Earlier, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had appointed Sunil Kanugolu as his Chief Advisor. He is credited with playing a key role in shaping the Congress strategy during the Karnataka Assembly elections.

Kanugolu was reportedly the brains behind the party’s campaign strategy, including the “PayCM” campaign and the five guarantee schemes that became a major political plank during the elections.

Known for his behind-the-scenes election planning, Kanugolu is now expected to assist Chief Minister Shivakumar in governance and administrative strategy.
