BENGALURU: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has detained former Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) chairman Shivashankarappa Sahukar in connection with an alleged irregularity in the recruitment of veterinary officers.

ED officials reportedly conducted searches at his residence in Bengaluru’s Dollars Colony from around 6am on Tuesday. Several documents and electronic devices, including mobile phones, were seized for examination. Searches were also carried out at his residence and office in Aland, Kalaburagi district.
The operation was part of a wider investigation into alleged financial irregularities in the recruitment process. Simultaneous searches were reportedly conducted at more than 21 locations across eight districts.
The premises of KPSC member Shanta Hosamani and some candidates selected through the recruitment process were also searched.
ED officials are examining financial transactions, documents and digital evidence to trace the alleged flow of money and establish the network involved in the recruitment process.
Audio recordings allegedly linked to demands for bribes have also reportedly been submitted to investigators as evidence.
The latest searches are part of the ED’s ongoing probe into the alleged recruitment irregularities, with investigators examining the role of officials, intermediaries and beneficiaries.
