Vijay’s final film ‘Jana Nayagan’ to hit theatres on July 23 after months of delay

Chennai: The wait is finally over for Vijay’s fans as ‘Jana Nayagan’, billed as the actor’s final film before his full-time political career, is set for a worldwide theatrical release on July 23.

The release date was officially announced by the film’s makers, KVN Productions, ending months of speculation over the much-awaited political action drama. The film had faced nearly seven months of delay owing to censorship issues and legal proceedings before eventually receiving clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification with an ‘A’ certificate.

Vijay shared the film’s latest poster on his official X handle while confirming the release date. KVN Productions also unveiled a new promotional poster with the tagline, “The struggle is as tough as the victory is,” further fuelling excitement among fans.

Originally slated for a January 9 release during the Sankranti festival, Jana Nayagan was postponed following censorship-related disputes, court proceedings and the online leak of a few scenes.

The film has generated significant buzz as it is being projected as Vijay’s last outing on the big screen before dedicating himself to politics.

Directed by H. Vinoth, the film features an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju and Narain in key roles. The music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
