New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday announced by-elections to one Assembly constituency each in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. Polling will be held on July 30, while counting of votes is scheduled for August 3. The election process will be completed by August 4.
The bypolls will be conducted in Bankipur (Bihar), Datia (Madhya Pradesh) and Manjalpur (Gujarat). The Bankipur seat fell vacant following the resignation of Nitin Nabin, Datia after the disqualification of Rajendra Bharti, and Manjalpur due to the death of Yogeshbhai Patel.

According to the poll schedule, the notification will be issued on July 6. The last date for filing nominations is July 13, while scrutiny of nominations will take place on July 14. Candidates can withdraw their nominations until July 16.
The ECI said polling will be conducted using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) systems. Besides the Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC), voters can use Aadhaar, passport, driving licence, PAN card and other approved identity documents to cast their votes.
