PM Modi, Donald Trump review India-US ties in trade, defence, energy

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation on Wednesday and reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation across trade, defence, energy and critical technologies.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders discussed areas of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

Modi and Trump agreed to maintain close engagement and continue efforts to deepen cooperation for the benefit of people in both countries.

The leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including ongoing efforts aimed at promoting global peace and security.

The latest conversation comes amid continued engagement between India and the US across multiple sectors. In June, the two leaders had reviewed progress in defence, strategic technologies, energy and bilateral trade and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.
