Brussels: The European Union (EU) has condemned attacks by Houthi rebels in Yemen, urging an immediate halt to strikes against Saudi Arabia and vessels in the Red Sea, and calling for renewed peace negotiations.
European Council President António Costa urged the resumption of the United Nations-led peace process, warning that the prolonged conflict had further worsened Yemen’s humanitarian crisis. He also reaffirmed the EU’s full support for the Yemeni government.

Meanwhile, the United Nations condemned an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on October 10. According to Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation, 12 people were killed and 309 civilians injured in the attack. The casualties included four Saudi nationals and eight foreign residents.
The incidents have raised international concerns over civilian safety and damage to critical infrastructure. The EU has called for dialogue and diplomatic efforts to end the conflict and ease the humanitarian crisis.
