Bengaluru: The Karnataka Police Department has announced recruitment for 3,395 Civil Police Constable posts across various districts, cities and special units in the state, offering a major opportunity for job aspirants.
Online applications will be accepted from June 8 to July 3, 2026, while the last date for fee payment is July 4.
According to the notification, the vacancies include 2,266 posts for male candidates, 755 for female candidates, 257 for serving male personnel, 82 for serving female personnel and 35 for transgender candidates.
Candidates must have passed PUC or an equivalent qualification recognised by the government, including CBSE, ISC, NIOS or a three-year diploma course.
The upper age limit has been fixed at 33 years for General category candidates, 35 years for SC/ST and OBC candidates, and 38 years for candidates belonging to tribal communities. The government has also granted a five-year relaxation in the maximum age limit for this recruitment drive.
The written examination is scheduled to be held on August 2, 2026, from 10.30 am to 12 noon. The test will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions carrying 100 marks, with a duration of 90 minutes. A negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applicable for every wrong answer.
The syllabus includes General Knowledge, the Indian Constitution, the Freedom Struggle, Karnataka history, geography, economics, culture and literature.
Candidates who qualify in the written examination will have to undergo physical endurance and fitness tests. Male candidates must complete a 1,600-metre run within 6 minutes and 30 seconds, apart from meeting the prescribed high jump and long jump standards. Separate physical standards have been prescribed for female candidates.
The examination fee is ₹750 for General category candidates and ₹500 for women, SC/ST and other reserved category applicants.
Selected candidates will undergo two years of training before being considered for permanent appointment. The pay scale ranges from ₹37,500 to ₹76,100, along with benefits under the National Pension System (NPS).
Applicants are required to upload documents including a recent photograph, signature, Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving licence, bank passbook and relevant caste or service certificates while submitting their applications.
Applications can be submitted through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) portal.
